Martha Coleman
Intake Director
Meet Martha, Director of Admissions at Murfreesboro Rehabilitation Hospital and a passionate rehabilitation professional with nearly two decades of experience in the field. With a PTA degree from CSTCC and a career that spans outpatient orthopedics, aquatic therapy, geriatric care, and inpatient rehabilitation, Martha brings a wealth of knowledge—and heart—to everything she does.
Martha is ASTYM certified and has specialized experience in aquatics, neuro rehab, podiatry, sports orthopedics, and geriatric therapy. She’s especially passionate about working with patients recovering from strokes, including those with hemiparesis, neglect, and aphasia. Her clinical background allows her to deeply understand patient needs and ensure a smooth, compassionate admissions process for individuals beginning their rehabilitation journey.
What began as an accidental step into healthcare has grown into a profound and meaningful career. Whether treating patients bedside for over a decade or now guiding them into care as a leader in admissions, Martha has always been driven by the privilege of helping others regain their independence and dignity.
Outside of work, she enjoys lifting weights, reading, playing banjo, listening to music, spending time with her family, and traveling. With nearly 14 years of dedication to our hospital, Martha continues to be a source of strength, empathy, and expertise—and we’re proud to spotlight her incredible journey.
